AdmiralChopra is known to have been a distinguished student in school and college. Welearn that he stood first in every subject in every class doing his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics and Chemistry switching on to Economics for his Master’sDegree followed by LLB and MBA. He says that left to him, he would still liketo be a student.
In hiscareer, he rose to the highest rank in the Navy available to him then. Afterretirement, he held very senior position in the corporate world. He has beenvery actively associated at the highest level with the National Organisationslike the Indian Council of Child Welfare, Rural Rehabilitation Commission,Fourth Pay Commission, Chinmaya Mission, Business and Law Schools in India andabroad. His other interests includestudy of scriptures, particularly Quran and Bhagwat Geeta. He speaks fluentFrench, Persian and Urdu.
Despite hisother achievements, his passion continues to be Education and association withchildren. He believes that proper education for a child in India is the only pillar on whichthe Indian Society will sustain and develop itself. Presently, he is engaged inresearch, alongwith some distinguished and experienced Educationists on the Theme " What should be thenature of Educational Curriculum at the School and Professional level whichprepares a child to be a responsible global citizen, yet retaining his nationalidentity".
